Welcome to Scary Story kids. My name is Edwin and today's story is about a man who struggles with the neighborhood kids. Does they mess up his yard? Little do they know that he has a plan to scare them away. Are you ready? Here we go. It was one of those days where the clouds work hard to cover up the sun. Sonny, then cloudy, then sunny again. Mister Binkman was looking out the window, angry at just thinking that a swarm of kids was about to get out from school and walk down his street. He had tried everything, from acting mean to sprain the water hose across the yard. He had made a kid cry that way, but did it hurt. Of course it didn't. He had gotten complaints, many of them mostly from angry parents passing by. Well, that's until one of the kid's moms came by recording him with her cell phone. Mister Binkman had already gotten training, though his daughter had told him to be careful. If they record him and he goes viral, that will be the end of him. One thing about him, though, is that he was an honest man. Those who knew mister Binkman back when he was younger would say that he was one of the kindest souls. It was always smiling, but those kids had worn him out. They would jump around his front yard and like to roll down the tiny hill he had built over the years, many years from all of the leaves and dirt he had gathered as he perfected his garden. Flowers of all kinds and colors lined his fence, and the most richest, darkest dirt lined the edges to help his plants grow. And those kids were ruining him. All. There were four of them, mainly, and he would refer to them by names he had given them. Water Kid, who was the kid who had cried from getting sprinkled by the water hose, Ponytail, the girl with the messiest ponytail ever, Belly who was the one whose shirt was too short for him, and Belly's younger sister, Booger Girl, because well, you get the point. It was like they were taunting mister Binkman so much that anyone really knowing his story would feel sorry for him, But not these kids. Ever, since water Kid's mom complained and said that she would call the police on him, the kid felt more powerful than ever and would stand there on top of the hill of mister Binkman's yard and just wait to be seen. But mister Binkman had a plan. He had seen it somewhere in a movie or a TV show. He was going to scare those children once and for all, and so he went to the hardware store and got a piece of wood. But then he needed paint, so he chose the color red. He had a saw to cut the wood at his house, so he skipped getting one of those, but at the cash register he made sure to pick out his favorite candy bar. He then paid and drove back home. Oh, it was going to be so good. He unloaded everything and got to the garage. He cut the board of wood into the perfect size, the square. He fixed the sides, and there it was. Then he changed his mind. A sign like this must not look perfect, so he cut along an edge to make it just a little bit crooked. He looked at it and then got the paint ready. This was going to scare those children once and for all. He could already imagine the looks on their faces, and they would see the sign, and letter by letter, mister Binkman traced the words and then stepped back. Children need for sale Now came the hardest part, the waiting. He needed for darkness to arrive in order to put up the sign on the yard. The next afternoon, mister Binkman eagerly waited by his window until finally he saw the herd of them leaving the school, like ants crawling out of their colony. Water Kid was the first to see it. He walked up to it, read it, and then took off, running right across the street, probably to go get his momb But then Pointytail and the other two came by with their backpacks. Belly pointed at the sign, but Booger Girl I didn't know how to read because she walked up to it and had no reaction. Mister Binkman was holding back his laughter, although he couldn't keep it in. Once he saw their reactions. The rest were pulling Booger Gol away and running toward the sidewalk. His plan had worked. Finally, it was time to celebrate, and so he got the large candy bar he had bought at the hardware store and then sat in front of the television to watch his game show. But just when it was about to start, there was a knock on the door. Mister Binkman opened the door and saw water kid's mom standing there shouting at him angrily a phone in her hand. She was going to record him. He tried to close the door, but this angered the woman even more, saying that she would call the news and the police, and did she even say the President of the United States. He managed to close the door. The woman eventually left. What happened next made mister Binkman think twice about his prank. Had it been worth it? He would get phone calls from the local television shows, people claiming to be YouTubers, and curious people would stand outside of his house. His daughter told him not to draw any attention to himself and to just wait it out, and that he did. Four days after that, things had died down and had gone back to normal. But one thing had changed. The kids were no longer jumping around his front yard and destroying his garden, and so mister Binkman continued with his life, watching television and tending to his garden in the afternoons, fixing things up here and there. But one day, while his television show was almost over, he got a phone call. He walked over to it and picked it up. Hello, He said. After a little while, he heard from the other end, I'm calling about the sign. Oh no, he thought to himself, and he was about to hang up, but that's when he heard the person on the other end say desperately, wait wait. Mister Binkman waited for him to continue without saying another word, and then from the other end he heard how much is it? Scary Story Kids is made by Scary FM.
